The New York Islanders were defeated by the Montreal Canadiens by a score of 3-1. Josef Vasicek scored the lone goal for the Islanders. Rick DiPietro also added 19 saves.

The New York Islanders were defeated in overtime last night by the Colorado Avalanche by the score of 2-1. Rick DiPietro had 37 saves in the losing cause for the Islanders.
