Saw a couple of interesting things on SI.com’s NBA Truth and Rumors page regarding the New York Knicks. Obviously most of it has to do with new head coach Mike D’Antoni and changes around the organization that could result from his hiring. Here they are:
“Will Knicks Go After Nash?“
in one week, at the NBA Draft [...]

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel is reporting that on Monday a Milwaukee area home owned by former NBA player Latrell Sprewell has been foreclosed on. Sprewell, a former Knicks star and Milwaukee native, failed to make payments on the home, which resulted in the foreclosure. This is not the first of Spree’s assets to be seized, [...]

According to Jack McCallum of Sports Illustrated, Mike D’Antoni will become the head coach of the New York Knicks. It’s believed that he will get a 4-year deal worth $24 million.
Tim Sharobem Adds: Wonderful. Another coach that doesn’t preach defense. I love the Suns offensive strategy…the problem is you need ATHLETES to run it. [...]

According to ESPN, the New York Knicks are making a serious push for current Phoenix Suns head coach Mike D’Antoni to come to New York in the same capacity. In the report, the Knicks have outlined the parameters of a 5 year deal, which is apparently extremely lucrative. D’Antoni is clearly the Knicks [...]

I still think it’s a mistake for the New York Knicks to keep Isiah Thomas in the organization in any capacity, whether it is his current advisory role or if he were selling cotton candy. The guy is a snake, and everything he touches turns to dust. His presence alone brings the franchise [...]

I woke up this morning and realized that yesterday….
1. Isiah Thomas was fired.
2. The Mets defeated the Phillies and Cole Hamels.
3. The Rangers ousted the Devils from the playoffs.
Wow. What a great day. I don’t usually have ones like that (given my choice of teams).

The Donnie Walsh Era is off to a good start, as he officially fired Isiah Thomas today. This should come as no surprise to anyone who has witnessed the disaster that is the New York Knicks. But then again, you can’t take anything granted for the Knicks, especially when owner James Dolan was [...]

I must say, I give the general public a lot of DAP. The big story around the New York Knicks this week has been the unofficial hiring of Donnie Walsh as team president. While Walsh is not officially with the Knicks just yet, media outlets such as ESPN are reporting on the story like it’s [...]

Please turn the lights off when you leave, and watch that last step on your way out…it can be a doozy. The long awaited pink slip for the man who has orchestrated the single biggest disaster in NBA history has been written. All that is awaiting its delivery is a signature, one from newly hired [...]

Long-time Indiana Pacers CEO Donnie Walsh announced today that he will be leaving the organization at the end of this season. Of course that leads to speculation that Walsh will assume a similar position with the New York Knicks. The 67 year-old Walsh had a successful run in his 24 year tenure with [...]
