The defending Super Bowl Champion Giants absolutely manhandled the Seattle Seahawks yesterday by a score of 44-6. For a post game wrap up, stats, and box scores, click here.
Eli Manning looked absolutely outstanding yesterday. A lot of the credit should be given the offensive line for dominating the ‘Hawks D-Line and Patrick Kerney. There also should be some stock placed in the rapport that Eli gained with Sinorice Moss and Dominick Hixon in the preseason. Both players looked amazing, especially Hixon, who I think is going to be a great receiver in the long term. Hopefully now Hixon can be remembered for something more than the Kevin Everett debacle.
Earth, Wind, and Fire were at it again. Brandon Jacobs was a horse, running all over the Seahawks and in the process doing his best impression of a Mac Truck. The thing about Jacobs is, that when he gets going, he cannot be stopped. I still would like to see the Giants run him more up the middle, but after yesterday’s game, I will take what I can get. Ahmad Bradshaw and Derrick Ward provided a great change of pace, even if Bradshaw was running in mop up time.
The defense made Matt Hasselbeck absolutely miserable yesterday. Granted he finally just got Deion Branch and Bobby Engram back, but still. Kevin Dockery also had an outstanding game, ending up with an interception as well. It was classic hearing Michael Strahan describe this as a new Giants team, because they “don’t need me and don’t need Osi“. I also think that we will be seeing the real Corey Webster from now on. The guy has been absolutely shut-down since the interception against the Packers last year in the playoffs.
Great win yesterday. I’m glad that the G-Men may have finally shook the post bye-week blues that they usually run into. I don’t want to get ahead of myself here, but I think it is entirely possible that the Giants will be undefeated going into their week 9 matchup against the Cowboys.
