After narrowly missing out on him in the 1991 draft, the Jets finally got the quarterback they’ve always coveted. Jay Glazer of Fox Sports is reporting that the New York Jets, Green Bay Packers and legendary quarterback Brett Favre have reached an agreement that will send Favre to New York for the upcoming season. This is huge news for the Jets and the rest of the NFL, a move that will surely put the Jets in the headlines quite often this season.
As of this point in time, the compensation is not known, but it is believed that it will be a draft pick that will vary based on Favre’s performance. Huge news for the Big Apple Sports world, and I will certainly have more to say about this in the next few days.
The best thing about this deal is that it will finally put a rest to the never-ending Favre-Packers staredown saga. It became such a ridiculous story to the point where I would change the channel whenever a TV show talked about it. Finally it’s over and we can move on with our lives.
