Larry Johnson, formerly of the New York Knicks, turns 39 today. Johnson led the Knicks to an improbable run to the NBA Finals in 1999. His 4-point play against the Indiana Pacers would be considered legendary if anyone cared about the Knicks these days. His best years though came in the early 1990s when he was a Charlotte Hornet. He was not only a great player, but a very marketable figure, made famous through his “Grand-ma-ma” commercials. Honestly, LJ’s birthday isn’t that big of a deal to me, I’m just looking for an excuse to show the Grand-ma-ma video:
Also Happy Birthday to Albert Einstein, William Clay Ford Sr., Wes Unseld, Billy Crystal, Kirby Puckett, Kevin Brown and Bobby Jenks
