ESPN.com has a pretty cool thing on its front page (at least I think so) involving the NBA draft.
They have a simulation program which runs the NBA lottery and automatically drafts players to the 14 teams. (The 14 teams and the lottery odds were determined by the teams’ records as of March 5). Apparently the program has 2000 possible scenarios.
As we know, the Knicks are in the lottery (yes, they actually have a pick this year) and have a chance, A VERY GOOD chance at a top three pick.
I’ve run the simulation a few times and gotten the following results:
1. Pick 1st overall- take: Derrick Rose G MEMPHIS
2. Pick 5th overall- take: Eric Gordon G INDIANA
3. Pick 7th overall- take: O.J. Mayo G USC
4. Pick 6th overall- take: O.J. Mayo G USC
5. Pick 2nd overall- take: Derrick Rose G MEMPHIS
Finally, something about the Knicks to get excited about!
