According to SI.com, the Devils are looking to move one of their eight defensemen. Among the names being thrown around in a possible deal are Johnny Oduya or Andy Green. The Devils are looking to acquire a third line center in exchange. Detroit’s Robert Lang has been suggested as a possibility.
Word on the streets also is that the Thrashers are looking to trade Bobby Holik. Holik could provide some quality leadership for a Devils team who is on the younger side this season. He knows what it is like to play in the playoffs, given his experience with the previous Devil’s Stanley Cup winners. He also fills the void of third line center, who plays an excellent checking game, and is at his best when he isn’t relied to score a ton of goals, like he was on the Rangers.
